LEADERSHIP PHILOSOPHY

Servant Leadership

So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly.   – 1 Peter 5:1-2

We believe that leadership within the body of Christ should not be hierarchical. As Jesus demonstrated,  towel in hand, to be a leader, you must be a servant. Because of this, we don't have a clergy/laity atmosphere or paid staff. We recognize that every disciple of Jesus is called to do the work of the ministry. For this reason, our leadership style is to serve and co-laborer alongside everyone within the fellowship.

Five-fold Ministry

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, then evangelists, then shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ"   Ephesians 4:11-12

We recognize that if the body of Christ is going to function properly, it must be equipped by all five expressions of leadership, referred to as the five-fold ministry. It's important that all five equipping gifts are given space to operate. With equal importance, we desire to prevent any one from being too dominant and that each is their proper place to function as God intended.
